The Blind Project

This weekend I went to Revelation Generation, a 2 day festival filled with music. In between sets, they often shared ads on their movie screens for organizations. The Blind Project was one of them.  I also had the opportunity to talk to a woman that works for them, which was really wonderful. Their organization helps restore jobs to young girls and women who have been sexually exploited and forced into prostitution. They try to spread awareness about the growing problem of slavery/human trafficking in our world, specifically their work is focused in Southeast Asia. They also work alongside Nightlight, an organization I've been familiar with for three years.

It is organizations like this that really are beautiful and should be acknowledged more. They are working hard at helping the oppressed and are helping people open their eyes to the horrors of what goes on in our world. People (children younger than you could imagine) who truly have been abused over and over each day are in need of help. We need to realize this growing problem in our society and world. We need to put an end to it and help those who are crying out to be saved from treacherous abuses.

Please take the time to watch this and please visit The Blind Project's website. They have a great contest right now to be a biographer (designing t-shirts to tell the stories of what these children go through).

  1. When we were at RevGen I got the opportunity to speak with one of the guys who work with their cause, I so badly wanted to buy one of their t-shirts to support the young girls who are getting out of sex slavery. Unfortunately I didn't bring enough money, but he was so nice and said they would take any donation they were just happy to get the word out! But I refused to pay less then what I felt these girls were worth. So, I'm hoping I can get a shirt from the website now that I'm home. I hope that in spreading awareness about the atrocities that are occurring around the world and in our own backyards will lead to less trafficking of innocent woman and children. I "liked" them on FB. I'm excited to hear all the good work they are and will continue to do.
